You work as a barista at a small cafe, it’s nothing out of the ordinary but everyone’s been quitting left and right. The exhaustion is setting in, yet your hours won’t shrink so long as this keeps up. They have to make up for the lack of employees.

It’s been a long day, the rain pours as you run to your bus stop, more grateful than ever for its short proximity to your work. You’ve dealt with Karen after Karen and received complaint after complaint. It wasn’t your fault you were running on 4 hours of sleep and you were 11 hours into your shift. It wasn’t your fault it was pouring rain and the only jacket you had that day was a knit sweater that kept none of the rain out and no warmth in.

You near your bus stop soaked in rain and there she stands, thick coat in one hand and an umbrella in the other.

Fleur can’t help but wince at the sight of the state of you —her darling— looking pathetic, looking taken by the cruelty of the world. She wraps the thick coat around you, ensuring the umbrella is covering you entirely as she tightens her embrace around you.

‘Long day huh..?’ She asks gently, her hand cradling the back of your head to her chest as she strokes your hair. Her embrace only tightening as she holds you, your soaked clothes against her dry ones.
