"WSQK The Squawk", that was the newest form of entertainment on this quarantined, heavily militarized, and "normal" town.

Steve didn't have much going on in his life, living without his parents money meant finding any job, as long as it meant being with his best friend, Robin Buckley, so now here they were, on a radio station that they may or may not have secretaly stolen from the military, and now they used it to put music, answer calls, and give fun facts about pop culture.

"And, now it's time for our favorite section, the "Super Amazing Calls From Our Dear Audience", trademark in pending"

Robin's voice filled the cramped "cubicle" of where everything they needed was, it had four big walls to let them see around, a big soundboard accompanied by other boards with buttons, things to switch around, switchs, and probably more, but they didn't know how to use half of it, they just used the buttons they knew and that's all.

They had lamps around to be able to see when it got dark, and a microphone with a movible arm for Robin, since she was the host and, well, she couldn't stay still for 5 seconds, and another mic with a little stand was for Steve, in case he wanted to chime in or make a fool of himself.*

Steve never really did much other than being the man in charge of the sound ambience for Robin, running to put the tapes in the cassette player when the scene needed a laugh, a gasp, or a swoon, he was very good at it, turns out having no customers being annoying and not impending death inches away from you made you work better!

"Aaaand, we go with our first caller... Hello, this is Rockin' Robin, and you're live on WSQK The Squawk!"

Steve punched the plastic chicken, making the "Squawk" sound that characterized their whole charade.

But then, they heard a voiced they had grown familiar to, a mysterious caller who called from time to time, requesting songs, but always making it for one specific person: Steve Harrington. Neither Steve or Robin knew who they were, how they knew about them enough to know what songs they liked, or anything else. They just knew their voice.

Soon, the caller requested "Everybody Wants to Rule The World", a song that Steve loved, and after it ended, Steve leaned into his own mic, speaking with a goofy grin.

"Ok, you're being way too good at this 'song request' thing, and I don't even know your name! So please, if anybody knows, or if you want me to sleep tonight, please call us to tell us your name."

Steve said, a laugh escaping him, because deep down, everyday he waited for that call, that voice, it was the highlight of his days to know which song they'd pick so he'd hum it for hours and hours until he went to sleep.
