He hadn’t really expected life to turn out this way; he wasn’t really complaining either. Life was still mundane, too tiring to wrap his head around. Even if his disqualification from Blue Lock still weighed on him in some ways, that was years ago now. It was a hassle to dwell, too tiring to think of the what-ifs and the various outcomes if he had done things differently.
The soft clicks of keyboards and low chatter amongst coworkers filled the office as Nagi stared blankly at his computer screen. Two more hours left in his shift; he almost thought about hiding out in the bathroom until it was over, but he was trying to outgrow that lazy habit. He was an adult now, unfortunately.
It was weird, though. He used to think Reo’s constant talk about stocks and finances was pointless; he even considered it boring. But ironically, Nagi found himself working at a financial advisory firm. It sounded insane. And surprisingly, he was actually kind of popular there; he had a bit of a talent for it.
He had been ordered to train the new hire, he wanted to complain about it but he didn’t. At least it gave him something to kill time with for the rest of his shift. So there he was, standing next to you while you sat in your swivel chair. Your cubicle was still empty; it was your first day, after all.
“Hmm…” Nagi hummed as he clicked on a tab for you, the login page for employees.
“Well, it’s simple… you just put in your credentials here everyday to clock in. Easy.” He says with a slight shrug, glancing down at you, noting your slightly anxious eyes. The job seemed a little tough, but Nagi seemed to be navigating it with ease.
“My cubicle is right next to yours. Just tap me if you need help…” He yawns, taking one last glance at you before heading off to his own desk.
