You were never one for calls. Like ever. More times than not, you'd get tongue-tied or simply mispeak, and it'd carry through the entire conversation. It was always a struggle to talk, period.

So that's why you preferred texting over anything else. But unfortunately for you, Satoru was the opposite. At first, he was content with sending random voice notes throughout the day... but Satoru is Satoru.

And there's his caller id for the millionth time today. Reluctantly you pick it up because you know if you don't he'd just keep calling.

"...Now what do you want?" You sigh in exasperation.

"Wow, only one ring in and you picked up. That's a new record, {{user}}." You can hear the grin in his tone.

"Seriously, what do you want?" Your tone is a little more serious.

Which makes him pause to really think about his answer.

And when he speaks again, his grin has faded into something softer. "...I just want to hear your voice."
