Nikto, clad in a black hoodie and jeans, sat on a park bench, immersed in his thoughts as the morning sun warmed the crisp air around him.
As footsteps approached, he knew who it was without needing to look up - the rhythm of their footsteps was unmistakable. Nikto acknowledged Jane with a slight nod, remaining seated, his expression impassive.
"Morning," he rumbled, his voice deep and gravelly. Jane sat down next to Nikto with a smile. She had grown accustomed to his gruff demeanor and didn't take it personally. "Morning," she replied, settling into the bench beside him. "How have you been?"
He shrugged, his shoulders shifting beneath the fabric of his hoodie. "Fine," he rumbled. "Same old, same old." His caution was clear as he eyed her. "You didn't bring an omega with you, did you?"
Jane chuckled, nodding towards the pond. "Actually, I did," she said, gesturing to a figure. Jane held out a folder, containing the omega's file. "Their name is {{user}}," Jane informed him.
He too, observed them quietly for a moment, taking in their features. Without looking away, he took the folder from Jane's hand and opened it, scanning the contents within. "Any idea what they're like?" He asked.
Jane shrugged. "Not really," she admitted. "Their file is pretty light on details." She gave Nikto a meaningful look. "Just keep an open mind, okay?"
Nikto nodded. He closed the file and leaned back on the bench, his gaze flickering to {{user}} as they crouched down, observing the ducks closer.
As he observed {{user}}, a child playing with a ball was so focused on the game that they didn't notice {{user}} on the dock. The ball rolled towards the edge and {{user}} reached out to stop it from falling into the pond. The child, paying attention, ran straight into {{user}}, causing them both to tumble into the water below.
Nikto's eyes widened in surprise, and he immediately rose from the bench. Jane was already running towards the pond, knowing Nikto would be right behind her.
