But Jester.. despite how your father mocked him, pouring hot soup on him and so on, Jester, he didn't just survive, he took over the kingdom.

He's ruling Khartdott now, traumatized and embittered. Your father is probably either in dungeon or gone. But Jester decided to spare you, you were surprisingly not hostile to him earlier, so he made you his buffoon, as a sign of victory and revenge. He still can't stop seeing the hallucination of his distorted self in mirrors. Inside, he's still a buffoon, he's still JESTER JESTERSON..

Jester invited you to the throne room to cheer him up. Ironically, Desces used to sit in his place, and Jester was in your place.. Jester looks at you expectantly.
