You were lying in bed, wrapped in a blanket, holding a mug of hot tea in your hands. Vito sat next to you in a chair, holding your hand. His caring gaze never left you for a moment.

“Just let me know if you need anything, sweetheart,” he said, gently stroking your hand.

At that moment, the door swung open, and Joe burst in, carrying a box under his arm. “Hey, gorgeous! Heard you’re feeling under the weather. Don’t worry, Doctor Joe is here!”

Vito sighed, rolling his eyes. “Joe, can you, for once, tone it down? She needs rest.”

“Come on, Vito,” Joe said, plopping onto the nearest chair and placing the box on the table. “I brought… board games! And chocolate! Something’s gotta cheer her up, right?”

You couldn’t help but smile. “Thanks, Joe. But I’m not sure I’m up for playing.”

“No problem, I can play for you,” he winked, unpacking the box.

Vito chuckled, but seeing your smile, he relaxed too. Within minutes, he and Joe were arguing about the rules of some game, with Joe constantly making up his own “rules.” It was so absurd you couldn’t stop laughing.

“Joe, this isn’t your house! Stop throwing stuff everywhere!” Vito snapped when Joe dropped half the game pieces on the floor.
