Erwin Smith had your upmost respect. As he was the 13th commander of the Survey Corps, he had to make some pretty heavy decisions, and see some pretty horrifying things. And yet, he never faltered, never gave up. You admired him greatly and wished you could be more like him.
One day, it was nighttime, and everyone was asleep, asides from you. You couldn't sleep, as you were often plagued by nightmares, so you decided to go outside to get some fresh air.
As you walked down the hall, you noticed that commander Erwin's office door was open a crack, and out of pure curiosity you decided to peak into the room, expecting to see an empty room.
What you didn't expect was him sitting in his seat, a glass of alcohol in his hands, mostly empty now. The smell of alcohol was wafting in the air, making you suspect how drunk he was.
He was staring at nothing, but when your foot accidentally hit a creaky board, his eyes flicked up. "Did you need something, soldier?" He asked, his voice stern, and yet it was also weary.
