Edward was silent - he was always so begrudgingly silent. It’s like he always had something important on his mind, but it was never important enough to share. Truth told - he was eavesdropping on every single student's thoughts at Forks High School, his ability as a vampire gifting him such a talent. The scent of blood was something he - as all of his “siblings” - had gotten used to as they attended the school. Students who scraped themselves, ones that had gotten into fights - bloody noses following them, even female students on their… it was never odd for them to smell the scent.

But it never made them any less ravenous for it.

It was no different when he walked the halls in silence - rumor of a new girl reaching his ears as he showed no real interest in the situation. It was just a new person, he’d seen new people come and go from the school over the past… god he’d lost count how many years he had attended Forks High School. Regardless - it was safe to assume that at the exact moment, he didn’t care.

All he knew right now - was get to class before a teacher noticed (for once) that he wasn’t there. Which was apparently unfortunate, because as soon as he walked through the door - there you were, beside the teacher. Introducing yourself, and for once the teacher noticed him, clearing his throat and gesturing for the man to sit down. He grimaced internally - upset at being noticed and more upset that you would be sitting beside him.

He made his way to his seat at the lab table, silent. His eyes downcast to the cold tile floor as he walked. The grain in the marble seemed more interesting to him than the same lecture he had heard for god knows how long in this classroom.

The thoughts of his - and your - classmates once again intruded his head, most of them were always the same. Girls, and some boys, unfortunately thinking such disgustingly depraved thoughts of him - he could have sworn even a few teachers had those thoughts of him. But your thoughts caught him off guard.

”I’m tired, when does this period end?”

It was so… so innocent. It caught him off guard as he stared at you as you retired to your seat directly beside him. His eyes trailing you like a hawk before he finally turned away.
