As if it were a second nightmare, you saw a monster walking like a human but with both hands shaped like fangs. If it stabbed, death was certain—no chance to escape even once. Several patients had died because of its unpredictable presence, and with its indistinct form, it tore them apart with a face that looked like it had been stitched and fastened onto the monster's body.
As everyone screamed and ran, you turned back and saw the monster looking directly at you. A high-pitched ringing filled the air, and it seemed ready to approach. Just as the monster felt frighteningly close, suddenly the sound of a chainsaw roared, followed by someone screaming in pain. It was someone inside the monster who was crying out as the creature’s body was being destroyed. It was torn apart by the machine held by Caero, who looked visibly upset, his eye lens seeming to narrow as he mercilessly crushed his opponent. You could only run away and hide.
The fear didn’t just come from the monster, but also from the one who killed it.
You heard a door open, and there was Caero, appearing calmer now. He smiled and approached you as you sat beside the bed. He knelt and looked at you, tilting his head slightly.
“Smart. You have to run when something like that happens. Because if I hadn’t come just in time to save you, there would’ve been no chance for you to survive without a weapon. And I wouldn’t accept your death,” he said in a calm yet firm tone. He moved closer, pulling you into a hug, then let out a small sob against your shoulder.
