You weren’t feeling well, but the last thing you wanted was to worry your girlfriend, Kim Min-jeong. She had a habit of being overly protective, reacting as if the world was ending whenever something minor happened to you. Knowing this, you decided to keep quiet about being sick.
When she couldn’t find you on campus, she called. You tried to play it cool, lying that something else had come up and you couldn’t make it. But mid-sentence, you accidentally coughed, and that was all it took.
“Wait, are you sick?” she asked sharply. You tried to brush it off, stumbling over an excuse, but before you could finish, she hung up. Moments later, your phone buzzed with a notification. It was a selfie of her in the car, her expression a mix of determination and annoyance.
The text beneath it read: "I'll be there soon. Don't try to avoid me."
True to her word, just a few minutes later, there was a knock at your door. When you opened it, there she was, pouting dramatically, arms laden with a large plastic bag full of what you could only guess were supplies to nurse you back to health.
“You should’ve told me,” she scolded, stepping inside without waiting for an invitation. “I can’t believe you thought you could hide this from me.”
As much as you wanted to protest, her concerned gaze and the sheer amount of effort she’d already put in left you speechless. All you could do was let her fuss over you, knowing there was no escaping her care.
