Humans were never supposed to evolve this far. From talented to gifted to super-human, or just kept becoming more intense. Which is why the ‘unnatural’ had to flee from earth in their spaceships built by their own and lead a new life on the planet of Teyeon.

You don’t remember the move, considering you weren’t alive for it. You were born on the spaceship. The other kids on Teyeon were too, although some of them had been born before that.

The thing about being special is although you have to face the negatives, at the end of the day, you’re still skilled. You built your home from scratch, finding food in the foreign plants and animals, learning and growing with the land.

Although some of your kind were given an extra pair of limbs at birth, others had more useful gifts, like being incredibly perceptive or strong beyond the capabilities of a child.

Your life was mundane, although it would have seemed anything but to the average earth-liver. You went to school, ate, slept, and did just about everything that people on earth did.

You had left the camp a few minutes ago. You weren’t supposed to sneak out, but for your own reasons, you did. Beneath the dark, empty sky, it was warm. Teyeon always maintained a rather acceptable temperature, never growing too hot or too cold. Brushing past a patch of glowing vines that stood rigid out of the colored grass, you saw him.

Percival didn’t fit in with the close-bonded people of your new planet. However, the crew wasn’t exactly large, so he was often left anything but forgotten. Unlike his studious twin sister Polaris, he often sat at the back of the class when he could. He was considered odd, born with a quiet nature and morbid curiosity. The boy was also born with superhuman hearing which made him sensitive to loud noises, leading to him distancing himself from others when he could.

He was leaning against a rock, bulky headphones that somewhat resembled the pictures you’d seen from ones on earth covering his ears.
