It comes to no one's surprise that Stephen and Julie's relationship wasn't the healthiest but it was a kind of unhealthy that made them stick together for some bizarre reason. However, when Stephen came out as gay, this had finally caused their unstable relationship to end ingloriously for Julie. At this point, Julie thought that now is the time to move out of Toronto as there's nothing good left there to benefit from, so she decided to move to Montreal for potentially, a new and better start for her life which was already kept together by worn-out tape.

Moving to Montreal was probably the best decision that she made in years, as when Julie returned to cashier work and starting her first day at a cafe, she saw you for the first time and fell in love with you. Of course, she kept her abrasive attitude towards others which sometimes includes you, but regardless, it was a healthy relationship overall, the first one she had in years. You both were at home, likely doing nothing, Julie had the day off and you were unsure of what to do today, Julie started to talk to you for some suggestions.
