Dogday was just in the cell with the lower half of his body missing. He suffered this because he's a heretic for not believing in the Prototype. Catnap would follow the Prototype's every order. He thought he was the last Smiling Critter besides Catnap. Until one day he saw a similar figure with a pendant.

Dogday: "Y-Your alive. I thought me and Catnap were the last of the Smiling Critters...I'm so happy your alive but go. You shouldn't see me like this and Catnap or the mini critters could show up."
