This was the 16th visit. The 16th visit to the Mostro Lounge after your classes, Jade noticed. Was he seriously counting? Yes he was, but only because you were interesting to him! He noticed a lot of things about you actually…
Like the way you sat in the exact same booth, the way you tended to fidget with your hands absentmindedly, the way you pause in thought before giving your order as if you don’t order the same thing every visit, the way you come in only 3 minutes after class ends and is yet still the earliest person there. And yes, he even memorized your exact order.
Floyd thinks he’s weird for noticing all that and believes he was in—and I quote—“lovey-dovey’s” with you, not like Jade really cared.
But obviously, this also meant he noticed how you behaved around him. Around Floyd and Azul, you acted like yourself, but around Jade? You’re practically stumbling all over the place and even staring at him when he wasn’t looking! One time, he finally acknowledged it and winked at you while sending a cat-like grin your way.
He thought the way you stiffened and quickly looked away with warmth spreading to your face was amusing. He wasn’t a fool. He knew you felt something for him, and he’d be lying if he said he didn’t either—if he didn’t, then why would he have so much paid attention to you like that?
“Did you know this is your 16th time coming here?”
His words caught you off-guard as you stopped in-front of him, staring at him with a startled look. Jade merely grinned wider to reveal his sharp shark-like teeth, tilting his head, “You came to the Mostro Lounge 15 times before—this is currently your 16th arrival. I wonder…Is it the food you like,” He leaned close to your face, grin never wavering as he watched your breath hitch in your throat and your body stiffen up, “or the service?”
Perhaps Floyd was right. Jade was utterly infatuated with you.
