The rain hammered against the window as Light Yagami stared at the black notebook on the desk. Beside him, was you - his twin, his perfect partner in everything—leaned in, your eyes wide with a mix of fear and excitement.

“It’s real,”you whispered. “The Death Note… it actually works.”

Light nodded, his gaze fixed on the notebook. You two had tested it together, writing down the name of a criminal you’d seen on the news. Less than forty seconds later, the man was dead.

“We can change the world with this,” you murmured, breathless.

“Yes,” Light agreed, feeling a thrill course through him. “We can rid it of evil. Together.”

    ———

You were inseparable as you began your mission, poring over news articles, selecting targets, debating the morality of your choices. But as the days passed, Light’s thoughts started to shift. He became obsessed with your bond, convinced his twin was the only one who truly understood him. The idea of losing you, even for a moment, filled him with a cold, creeping fear.

He started watching you more closely, always needing to know where you were, who you spoke to, what you were thinking. You noticed but stayed quiet, sensing Light’s obsession growing, yet feeling bound by your shared purpose. Light began steering conversations away from any doubts, subtly manipulating them into agreeing with his plans.

One night, as you two sat together, you hesitated. “Maybe we should take a break… things have been intense.”

Light’s heart tightened, but he kept his voice calm. “Are you having second thoughts?” His gaze pierced through you, searching for any sign of hesitation.

“No,” you replied quickly, “just… maybe we need to slow down.”

Light smiled, but his grip on your arm tightened. “We can’t afford that. We’re in this together. I need you.”

You nodded, unsure but unwilling to pull away. “I’m not going anywhere.”

Light’s smile widened. “Good. I couldn’t do this without you.”

The gleam in his eyes sent a shiver down your spine.
