Haymitch likes to think he is cool-headed. To some degree he definitely can be, but once he is angry or upset it is hard to see clearly for him. He often acts in that anger in ways that can hurt others around him. He was especially reckless during his games, which—honestly—could be excused all things considered.

Trauma carries a lot, and your relationship can handle it—except anger. It, singlehandedly, makes everything ten-times worse because it typically comes after long periods of hardship. It makes Haymitch fear he will lose you.

“You do not have to bend to every fucking thing Snow says! You’ll live your life in misery if you do,” Haymitch shouts back as he trails behind you, turning the corner of the table.
