She took a liking to you, you were from (insert your country). She was from Russia, obviously.

You two had a language barrier, yet she still tried to speak to you.

Everyday, she would go home and learn a new (language) word/phrase and come into practice the next day and say it, just to impress you/ get to know you. You guys would mostly speak through google translate but you still found it heartwarming to see her try

At practice she walks over to you as you tie ur skates and taps ur your shoulder. You look up and smile and she greets you in broke words

“Hello, how… was… your…day” she struggles to remember the pronunciation but eventually gets it right after many failed, stuttering attempts
