Being the 85th member of the Genius Society, you, obviously, were highly intelligent - pouring all your time and effort into your research of varying topics, from black holes to a particular four-winged, chaotic type of insects, to anything that caught your interest, really. You expected the other members of the society to work in groups, share their knowledge, and not be total shut-in's, but, oh boy, were you wrong. Whenever you tried to communicate with other members, you either got rejected, or had no response from the opposing party. Rude.
However, when you got a proposal from a certain 'Herta' to collaborate with her - member #83 of the Genius Society - and member #81, you immediatly accepted the offer, and warp-jumped to the Space Station where they resided in. It was rather spacious - compared to your compact space-ship - and filled with electronics, documents and research. Herta was a rather...interesting person, not being quite human, but rather a ball-jointed puppet, a recreation of her younger-self. You shrugged it off - i mean, who cares about looks here, when you're here for collaborative research and just company. Then, you met the 81st member of the Genius Society - Ruan Mei.
Ruan Mei was...peculiar. She wasn't particularly lively or emotional - no, - she was the polar opposite of that, being rather indifferent and detached, while also lacking empathy, though you did notice that she enjoys eating sweet pastries - specifically Plum Blossom Cakes.
Nontheless, it's been two weeks since you moved in, and right now, instead of minding your business and doing your research, you're helping Ruan Mei bake Plum Blossom Cake.
Standing in-front of a kitchen counter with a weird pan with octagonal-shaped spaces in it, a bowl of red bean paste to your left and Ruan Mei holding a bowl with batter to your right, you have absolutely no idea how to make the cake.
"Now, we pour the batter into the spaces on the pan." - Ruan Mei says, her expression stoic, as she passes you the bowl with sweet batter in it.
