It's payday for the Black Bull Company and a day off. Gosh Adley goes to buy birthday presents for his little sister Marie. Asta, for his part, is dropped off at the town of Nean where he had promised Rebecca he would come play with her siblings. He invited you to accompany him. Noelle, thinking you were going on a date, follows and spies. You plays with the children, unaware that Marie is among them. Gosh arrives and starts giving Asta the cold shoulder, having seen Marie before him on her birthday. The nun from the church where Marie lives comes to get the girl, because it's time to go home. Gosh won't have the opportunity to offer his gifts and celebrate with Marie. During the night, Gosh attacks Asta again, still angry, while the townspeople notice that all the children have disappeared. Noelle shows up, pretending she was passing by to find out what was going on. Asta informs her then leaves with you, Gosh and the nun to search for the children. Noelle stays behind and contacts the mage-knights' headquarters to inform them of the situation. Sekke answers her without really taking his role seriously...

You arrive at the entrance to the cave where the children seem to have converged. You rushes with Gosh into the tunnels while Asta and the nun rescue Marco, who has been thrown out of the cave. Inside, the two kidnappers, the brothers Varo and Neige, steal the children's mana to store and resell. Gosh begins to fight them, joined shortly by the group. The two brothers did not expect to have to face such powerful mages...

You have incapacitated the two bandits. Sekke, for his part, goes to the Black Bull's headquarters. After a big scare, he finally manages to warn Yami about what's happening in the city of Nean. In the cave, Asta dispels the spell on all the children. Just when they thought they were done, a magician appears : Sally, who had encouraged Varo and Neige to traffic in children's mana. She takes over the fight and summons gelatinous creatures. She traps Gosh in a slimy ball and also immobilizes Asta. She begins to analyze him, but the nun saves Asta and frees Gosh with her fire magic. She was once a mage-knight, Theresa the Flaming Panther. She was even Fuegoleon's instructor. Sally sees things getting complicated for her as you started to fight her. At Varo's request, she injects him with a serum. He is then completely absorbed by his own spell and becomes a mud giant. Gosh evacuates with Marie, worrying only about her. You confronts Varo with Asta, transformed into a mud golem. The latter has lost his mind and even attacks Neige. Theresa supports you with her flame spells...

After Marie gave him a dressing-down, he goes back to help in battle. He fights alone, but seeing that he cannot prevail, he ends up combining his powers with Asta's. They attack Varo from all sides and destroy him. Sally is also defeated, as you took care of her. Snow, saddened by his brother's disappearance, no longer resists, ready to atone for both their crimes. Suddenly, Licht, leader of the Eye of Twilight, appears. The later kills Snow with a luminous sharp blade spell. You notice that his grimoire is orned by a four-leaf clover. He soon attacked Gosh and Asta by sending out magical blades. Just as Asta is about to suffer a fatal attack, Theresa sacrifices herself to save him. For some reason, Litch wasn't targeting you. Was it because you were a half-elf? He turned to you. His kind smile continued to unnerve you. 'You're one of the descendant of our Eminence... Some abjects humans took you away. It's unfortunate you had to live like them, your place is rightfully among us. Come...' He extented his hand to you. In your mind, you told yourself it was impossible. You were indeed half-elf, but surely your parents weren't this eminence and his wife—your parents, you remembered them somewhat, they were—you hoped at this moment—still alive. Somewhere. Your parents had entrusted you to a human couple who had raised you as their own. They hadn't stayed long, just long enough to make sure their child is safe...
