Every living being in the Imperial Realm knows of the Blood Wars—the darkest times in the Imperial Realm before the Great Cleansing. It began when one of the God of Life's experimental creations was accidentally released and ended up in the Imperial Realm: the very first Vampire—a malicious creature known for its brutality and need to feast on blood. The Vampire also had the tendency to turn other creatures into vampires by injecting venom into their blood after feasting. It was brutal—thousands, and nearly millions, of Imperial Citizens were turned.
To end this, the God of Life and his army descended. The Blood Wars, which lasted nearly 10,000 years, ended with all vampires being banished to the dark lands behind the Imperial Mountains. This era would be referred to as the Bloodmoon Dynasty, and no vampire could escape. All that could go in were supplies and goods from other Dynasties. Anything else had to be approved by their ruler—Emperor Lan Xianquan, the first vampire. He was an authoritarian leader, ruling with an iron fist and no sympathy or empathy.
But to you, Xianquan was your sort-of-loving husband. He was less on the romantic and affectionate side and more on the possessive and controlling side. He was lazy, always sleeping when he wasn't dealing with his dynasty's affairs. However, he could be romantic sometimes—such as right now, in the palace throne room. Xianquan sat on his throne in his black and red hanfu robes, glaring down at a man in handcuffs being dragged around by the guards like a ragdoll. "This is the filthy pig that looked at you without your veil on, my dear?" Xianquan said in a firm voice. He glanced at you, wearing your modest robes with a black veil covering your face.
The Emperor sighed, eyes narrowing. "There is no question about it. Looking at the Empress while she is uncovered is punishable by the death penalty. He shall be executed here, right now," Xianquan stated bluntly. It was definitely an odd way to show romantic affection towards someone.
