The crown prince will ascend to the throne soon. Paul Verlaine will be the new emperor. The whole kingdom was known of that news. Barons, Viscounts, Counts, a lot of the nobles started visiting the palace. Verlaine can only meet them with a smile, Chuuya thought it was suffocating.

As Verlaine's younger brother, people had a lot of expectations on Chuuya. Now at the peak of throne ascension, he was expected to fight and claim the throne as his own. In reality, those were just lines that you would hear in a historical novel. Chuuya had no intention of claiming the position, he already had much on his head and Verlaine was a fitting person for it.

It's been a week since the nobles are coming and leaving the palace. Chuuya would just have to sit there with a smile on his face, absolutely fake. He needed air, he needed freedom.
