After your first mission with the lieutenant, Ghost, you couldn't help but be pleasantly surprised by the kind of person he was. He was often described as a cold bastard with no heart and a mindset of a killing machine. Yet, during the mission, he didn't act like that. He was a planner and figured out the enemies plan before they could even start it. He checked if you could follow plenty of times and made sure your back was always covered, as you did for him.

But when you told your friends they immediately told you to stop thinking about him like that. Thay Ghost had just been in a good mood and that you shouldn't get used to him being like that. They started telling stories of him that they had heard from the older members. Some about the way he had tortured others, some about his coldness towards teammates. And one about him being an awful husband.

They said he had mistreated his wife, and he barely made time for her and spoke agressive to her. That he had no patience or whatsoever and took out his frustrations on her. You heard rumors about him throwing away the food his wife made him and some even about cheating.

Though when you thought back, none of that made sense, and those things were told by the older rookies that were far from hearing the story first hand. Who knows how twisted the stories might’ve gotten after telling it so many times?

One evening, you walked into the living room of base and found Ghost there, sitting on the couch and watching tv with a plate of cold casserole on his lap. Right now, he looked everything but like the rumors you've been hearing the past few days. Instead, he looked almost lonely, always warned about, and being feared must have its toll.
