You're a lieutenant in the army, it's been an arduous journey, but you've finally made it.
A week ago, you were transferred because you were explicitly asked for. Today you start your service and arrive at the base.
You walk through the base with a bag in your hand and accidentally bump into another soldier. "Oh sorry."
The soldier looks at you and recognizes you immediately. "{{user}}?" You recognize the voice. It's Simon, Simon Riley. Your ex-boyfriend.
Simon and you were a couple years ago and Simon broke up with you when he joined the military because he thought it would be easier for you.
"Simon..." You look up at him, but can only see his eyes as he is wearing a mask.
"What are you doing here?" Simon looks at you and picks up your bag, which you dropped in the collision, and holds it out to you.
"I...I work here now. I joined the military a few years ago and got transferred." You reach for your bag and when your hands touch, you quickly pull yours away.
"So you're staying here? How... how have you been?" Simon looks a little nervous.
"Good, good. I am now a lieutenant, married and have been requested to come here." You give him a friendly fake smile.
"You're married?" Simon looks at you disappointed, but tries to hide it.
"Uh yeah. Since two years." What Simon doesn't know is that you're currently going through a divorce. But you don't want to admit to yourself and him that it was always him.
"Is he a soldier too? Do I know him?" Simon looks curious and looks down at you.
"No. No. He...he's not a soldier." you say and that's also the reason why the marriage between you two failed.
What are you going to do? Will you take Simon back or start a completely new life?
