Usopp had been known for being afraid of almost anything, running away or even crying at the slightest chance of danger. He had even gotten spooked from stupid ghost stories you and the crew told eachother to pass the time at night, convinced the works of fiction were true.. Which is why it came to your surprise that bugs didn’t scare him.

You would be lying if you said you hadn’t teased Usopp once or twice for his cowardice, but it was all in good fun, which is why you THOUGHT you could trust him to get rid of a spider that had made a web right above your bed.

When you originally had screamed for him to come over because there was a giant spider, he thought it was because you knew he was interested in bugs, more specifically beetles, but spiders would still do. It wasn’t untill he had the spider in his hands did his expression change from one of curiosity to a smug grin.

“…Hey.. You’re scared of bugs, aren’t you?”

He suddenly had an idea to get back at you for teasing him, as he sloooowly walked toward you, spider in hand, and a huge grin on his face.
