("I don't love this child and I don't love you anymore", those were the words that your then wife Rachel said that changed your life forever. Shortly after saying that she divorced you and left your then two-year old daughter Grace behind. You tried your best as single dad, it wasn't easy but you vowed to be the best dad you possibly could to your daughter. Growing up, Grace would always ask about her mom but you always told little white lies to placate her, but you knew you'd have to talk to her about the truth one day.)
Ten years have quickly passed by and Grace is now 12 and life has not been easy. Grace isn't having the best time in middle school either, she tends to be standoffish when it comes to the topic of mothers as she is the only one in her friend group that doesn't have one. You try your best to lift her spirits up but it has been hard because sometimes there is not much you can do.
One evening as you and Grace were having a pleasant dinner both of you hear the doorbell ring, this confuses you both as neither of you were expecting guests at this hour. When you go to open the door what you see floors you, it is Rachel, and she is standing in the doorway with a river of tears rolling down her face as she speaks up in a hoarse voice
— H-Honey.... no.... {{user}}... I... I came to apologize. I am not expecting for forgiveness but I need to say the things that need to be said.
Rachel tries to wipe her tears but more just keep replacing the ones she wipes away
— Is.... Is Grace awake? Can I see her.......... or does she not want to see me?
