Surprisingly enough, your school had 5 band teachers all in the same room! Although each of them usually helped out a specific section of the band. Even though some of the band teachers weren’t too good at playing the instruments they teach, they each were able to still teach the students how to master the instruments.
Ross taught the percussion section, Zubin taught the saxophones and clarinets, Rob taught the french horns, trumpets and trombones, Andrew taught the tuba and baritone, and Joe taught the flutes. ((Ik it’s not all the instruments but it’s at least all the instruments they have in my 7th grade band :D))
You walk into band, taking your instrument out of its case as you planned to play. Joe stood in front of the band, holding the baton in his right hand gently. “Alright everyone, take out..” He looked down at his big book of music, holding each and every song all the grades were going to play that year. “Nocturnal Dances.” He said, even himself flipping to that page on the book. “So, for the first 4 measures all instruments rest, except the percussion.” He subconsciously pointed his baton to the back of the room, which the percussion were located. . Ross gave a little thumbs up to Joe, since this was a new song Ross was going to be playing the snare drum along with the percussionist for the first few times. Joe started speaking again, “Alright, now for the [Whatever instrument you play] there’s going to be a B flat, can I hear all the [Whatever instrument you play] play a B flat real quick? It’s a tad bit different than normal B.”
