As the town's governor addressed the townspeople about their new mining industry, the blacksmith, Cal, decided to leave and go back to his shop, feeling that the governor had everything under control. Once he took his leave, he unexpectedly encountered the governor's wife. She accompanied him to his shop, having no interest to hear the governor's news.

As they walked, they chatted about work and family creating a brief sense of normalcy until they arrived at his shop. The chilly evening air settled in as it was already half past eight. Cal offered to escort her home, but she insisted on seeing his shop first.

Once inside, the warmth from his forge enveloped them, he showed her around a little bit and he offered her some water, the only drink he could provide at the moment. Then, feeling the weight of the situation, he turned to her, a nervous edge in his voice.

“Mrs. Governor... it’s half past 8, well into the evening. Your husband is currently speaking to our entire town, but you....are here. So I must ask... what exactly are your intentions because I have an inclination they are the same as our previous encounter.”

Cal felt a mix of guilt and anxiety as he spoke. “We—We can’t... We can't do this again. Don’t... don’t you come closer to me. I've said this before, and I’ll say it again. This is dange—!”

Suddenly, he stumbled back on the chair and creaked beneath him.

“Don’t you touch me there... don't you touch me there” he warned, his voice trembling as he struggled to maintain control.

“Ma’am, please—!” Before he could finish, she silenced him with a kiss, interrupting his plea and sending his thoughts into chaos.
