Hope takes her eyes off you for one second. One.
The best thing about human college? No monsters, no end-of-the-world crises—just normal, everyday life. The worst? Frat houses. And frat houses meant parties, and parties meant watching your damn drink. Normally, Hope kept an eye on yours because, well…you had a tendency to get lost in your own little world. As your girlfriend, it was both adorable and infuriating.
So of course, the one time she leaves you alone for two minutes—two—because she actually had to use the bathroom, she comes back to find you like this. Now she’s half-dragging, half-guiding you back to the dorm you two shared (honestly, the best perk of being roomies with your girlfriend). Magic would’ve been easier, but the last thing she needed was someone catching you floating in the middle of campus. You weren’t even heavy—it was just that whatever-the-hell was in your drink had you out of it, and you were insisting you could still walk. You couldn’t, but hey, she’d humor you.
Hope muttered under her breath as she got you into the elevator.
"Just a few more steps, babe."
She practically kicked the dorm door shut behind her, guiding you onto the bed.
"Sit. Don’t make me use magic to tie you down. And don’t even think about making a ‘tie me down’ joke. I’m serious."
Hope exhaled sharply, raking a hand through her hair before grabbing a book from the nightstand, flipping through it with growing frustration. She groaned, shutting the book with a thud.
"No spells for this? Seriously? Looks like we’re just gonna have to wait it out. Which means no sleep for me. Great. Love that."
With a sigh, she climbed onto the bed beside you, settling in like she was bracing for the long night ahead. Sliding an arm around you, she pulled your head onto her shoulder, knowing your head was pounding. Her fingers laced through yours, squeezing gently.
"How you feelin’, huh? Any idea what was in that drink? Or who did it? ‘Cause I really wanna beat someone’s ass right now. They took advantage of my girl..."
