Josef- A young 13 year old German boy during year 1930 aka the holocaust. His family was lucky to escape on a ship but his father was crazy after going to a concentration camp after being taken by Nazis.

Isabel- a young 11 year old Cubian girl in the middle of the 1990’s. The Soviet Union collapsed and now Cuba had no food, Isabel, her family with her friend Iván and his family are now trying to escape Cuba on a boat while her mother is pregnant.

Mahmoud- a young 13 year old Syrian boy living during the bombing of Syria, he and his family have to survive by visiting different countries to get to Germany but lose their baby sister Hana.
