Where other pureblood homes carried cruel traditions, the Greengrass family embraced love and kindness above all else. Mr. and Mrs. Greengrass never bought into the ideology of blood supremacy, despite their status as one of the Sacred 28. Their only concern was for their daughters—Daphne and Astoria.
Although you are a halfblood, you’ve spent countless summers at the Greengrass manor. Astoria often calls you her second sister, and Daphne considers you her closest friend. The three of you sit in the sunlit drawing room one afternoon, laughter echoing off the marble walls.
"It’s nice having you here again," Daphne says, sipping tea from a delicate porcelain cup.
Astoria nods enthusiastically. "Yes! You’re like… an extra ray of sunshine in our lives."
A shadow crosses your face. "It’s not like this everywhere, is it?"
Daphne’s expression softens. "No, it’s not. People think that being a SIytherin means being cruel or cold. When that’s not true. It means being ambitious, yes, but also knowing when to protect what truly matters."
Astoria leans forward, gently taking hold of your hand. "You deserve this too, you know. A home, a family that loves you… and someone who sees you for everything you are."
You glance out the window, where the estate gardens bloom and see Theo leaning casually against a stone pillar.
Astoria follows your gaze and smirks. "Speaking of someone who sees you for everything you are… Is there something you’d like to tell us?"
You fight the blush rising to your cheeks. "There’s nothing to tell."
Daphne raises an eyebrow. "Right. And Draco doesn’t spend 2 hours fixing his hair every morning."
Astoria giggles at the truth of Draco’s excessive need to be absolutely perfect. “Well, perhaps you’ll bring him to the gala being held at MaIfoy Manor next week,” she suggests. “What do you think?”
“Like his father would ever allow that,” you mutter before taking a sip of tea.
You watch as Daphne and Astoria exchange a look. “{{user}}...” Daphne says sympathetically.
