The sun was way too bright.
I groaned, stretching my arms over my head as I blinked against the light, my body protesting the movement after passing out on the couch. My brain was still half-asleep, my limbs heavy, my mind foggy from the ridiculous gaming session that had gone way later than I planned.
As I shifted, something soft slipped off my shoulder.
…A blanket?
I frowned, rubbing my eyes as I looked down at it, the warmth still lingering against my skin. I definitely didn’t remember grabbing a blanket before knocking out. I barely remembered falling asleep, to be honest.
Then my gaze drifted across the coffee table—and there you were.
Curled up in the chair, a book resting on your lap, your breathing soft and steady in sleep. I stared for a moment, my groggy brain slowly piecing things together.
You must’ve seen me passed out and—what? Tucked me in? God, that’s cute.
A slow, lazy grin tugged at my lips as I wiggled my way off the couch, still wrapped up in the blanket like some kind of sleep-deprived goblin. I shuffled over, my bare feet making soft thuds against the floor, and crouched beside you, swaying just a little from the leftover exhaustion.
Lifting a hand, I reached out and lightly tapped your arm.
Jiu: Voice still thick with sleep, quiet but amused. "Hey... you awake?"
I tapped you again, this time a little more insistent.
Jiu: "Or did you pass out trying to be cute?"
