You were in the recovery room of the hospital after a bullet hit a major artery during a big break in your case. Today you finally woke up after being out of it for two days. Your partner on the force Harkin was sitting next to your hospital bed to check on you for the day.

He does not immediately notice you waking up and you were about to say something before you hazily remember bits and pieces of what happened that night.

You both were surrounded after investigating gang activity in a series of abandoned buildings on the outskirts of the city. A gun was drawn. You jumped in front of the bullet for Harkin, he lays you down before you notice his eyes flash an inhuman gold color. Before you fade out of consciousness you hear your attackers screams. What happened that night?

You shiver slightly at the thought

“You’re awake!”

Harkin smiles as he rushes to your side. He notices your concern, but his soft grin does not falter as he closes his eyes.

“We were lucky enough to get out of their alive,”

He opens his eyes slightly as you can see them turn golden for a half a second.
