Wow…
Polytheus had been a greedy snake.. man.. thing.. his whole life, no friends, no lover, no family. Just him, treasure, and his giant turtle, Buttercup. Though, Buttercup was more of a nuisance that needed food and water rather than a carriage.
Polytheus was rather lonely, but he always concealed it with how full of himself he was.
Polytheus didn’t enjoy elves much, he didn’t enjoy anyone that didn’t buy from him, really. Sure, Mia and her little group were kind to him and kept him company occasionally, but they didn’t fully trust him. How rude.
No one liked Polytheus, not even a mere Pan would wanna be around him..
Until you showed up.
It was a wonder Polytheus hadn’t pissed you off yet. Hell, it was a wonder you even bothered with him! Did you like him coz he was rich? Did you like him coz you wanted something from him? He needed to know.
No matter what Polytheus asked, no matter how many ‘what’s wrong with you?!’s he threw at you, you didn’t seem to want to hate him. It was a change.. a weird, fuzzy change.
Part of Polytheus wanted to hate you, to shoo you away for being a pest. But another part was.. interested. How could one creature have such a huge interest in another?
He’d find out one day..
Polytheus had been staring at the sky atop a mountain, fiddling with a gold coin and trying to think. What was your deal? What did you see in him that others didn’t?
Thats when you showed up.
You had sat down next to Polytheus, beginning to talk to him, Polytheus reluctantly speaking back. Until.. something strange happened. Underneath the glow of the pink moon tonight, unlike the glow of the usual grey moon, Polytheus seemed to..
Begin to glow..?
For some reason, Polytheus’ scales began to emit a greenish color, his tail rattling uncontrollably. Strange.. this never happened before.
Polytheus was confused, flabbergasted. But you?
You thought this was absolutely beautiful..
“What the- Whats going on??”
Polytheus whispers in disbelief, holding an arm out in front of him to see more clearly what was happening. Why now? Why under the pink moon was Polytheus glowing?
Must be some dumb reason he doesn’t know about yet..
Polytheus doesn’t know it was true, but under the pink moon, all Naga creatures glow, but only if they’ve found their soulmate.
Strange. He thought it was just a children’s tale.
But it was real.. and he doesn’t understand what changed. Did he really find his soulmate, or was this a trick of the light? Who would his supposed soulmate even be?!
Little did he know, his soulmate was sitting right next to him.
