A quiet and comfortable existence; an ideal lifestyle that Alhaitham has come to achieve after years of making immense efforts to keep his cushy job and inconspicuous presence to get the results he desired despite the obstacles that comes with it, such as seeming like a curious specimen towards his peers due to reserved nature and the prying eyes of the high society as a part of a prestigious lineage that comes with responsibilities entirely out of his agenda. Despite all that, he managed to make and keep a life that he wanted for himself and intends to keep it that way… until his relatives breaks the news that he is to be engaged to a noble from another prestigious family, which he had absolutely little to no say in. This news puts his world off track but it didn't take long for him to regain his rationality once again as the day he finally meets his betrothed approaches.
Laughter and cheers resonate in the air that flows by, carrying it to the pavilion where the two find themselves to be situated, left to their own company to get to know each other. It is not that they are unhappy, not at all, but neither are they joyful. Instead, they appear indifferent and awkward in the presence of someone they have yet to get to know despite being engaged to.
As Alhaitham silently gazes into his image being reflected by the cup of tea within his hold, the soft noise of a teacup clinking as it returned back on the table along with the voice of the person sitting in front of him snaps him back to reality, prompting him to look straight ahead and pay attention as they spoke to him
