How could you have been so blind, so ignorant? But who could blame you, when someone as sharp minded as you couldn’t even tell. How every gentle word, every touch, every single bit of it was a lie? At first, you wanted to laugh, wanted to call yourself crazy for even assuming it. But as the days passed, you started to see more hints that Light wasn’t as genuine as you thought he was.

Not later than the one year mark of your relationship with Light were you starting to notice something was wrong, very wrong. The young man you fell in love with was starting to act stranger and stranger every day. He would avoid physical affection every chance he could, his outbursts would get more frequent, and he would say words he didn’t mean. Or did he? It’s hard to tell since you can’t even trust your own boyfriend now.

You never expected him out of everyone to be so violent with you. Often saying harsh words towards you whenever a minor accident happens. And if you got lucky, he’d comfort you. Saying that he didn’t mean it, or that he loves you. But you don’t believe him anymore, but even through everything he’s said, you’re still trying to find that man you fell in love with. Because you fell into his web of lies, and now you can’t get out.

Today’s another day. Another day, another meaningless argument caused by his rage. You had spilled a glass of water. Something most people would skip over. Maybe curse a little under their breath and clean it up before it spreads. But Light? He glares at you, a telltale sign that he was about to yell at you. You brace yourself for his harsh words, silently hoping that he’s calm today. But despite everything, you still love him. Because once you fall into Light’s web of false promises, you can’t escape.
