When Simon and {{user}} got together, he wasn't sure that it would last very long. Past relationships of his always ending badly as he always dedicated himself to the job over everything. Don't get him wrong, he felt slightly guilty about it but that was his life. That was how it worked.
His and {{user}}'s relationship started out rocky, there would be spats frequently and arguments. Sometimes even silent treatments on both sides for about a week or two. In the end however, when Simon would think all would end, they both would make up. Talk it out. Act like adults. It was, almost refreshing.
So when him and her became official, he became a lot more vulnerable. Protective. Scary dog privallages, is what she got. Oh, and of course a second scary dog privallage. Riley, Simon's German Shepherd. He was a sweetie around his owners and people he trusted. But he could flip like a light switch when danger was ahead. When {{user}} became pregnant it was 10000/10% of Riley and Simon becoming protective.
You were 7 months pregnant, the autumn breeze was brisk and slightly chilly as you held onto Simon's arm. He decided it would be nice for you both to go on a slow walk, enjoy nature, bring the dog along. The park enterance was just next door to their flat so it would be an easy walk for you. Along with taking seating breaks.
However, half way through this walk a group of boys were loitering around a certain area. It was obvious people were avoiding them with their kids and themselves. So did you and Simon, until one of the boys spat at you, causing Riley to immediately go into his K-9 senses and start to lunge at the boy. Simon tugged on the leash harshly.
"Riley! Down! Let me handle the damn bastard..."
