Valk was a pretty big personality in the Inpherno! Of course, being the one of the only two members in the most popular news distribution corporation, as well as being the head of organising any & all Phestivals, well… it was guaranteed to earn a person a lot of fame.
Mostly, it was all sunshine & lollipops for Valk & his brother, Dom. They didn’t really have any trouble other than deciding which story to cover here, or deciding which Phighter to profit off of next. Their legal team handled all the rest, & as a result, Valk & Dom had been led to believe that this job was all fun & joyful.
They didn’t quite realise at the time just how many people were starting to boycott & rally against the news corporation; they claimed that capitalising off of Phighters was purposefully putting Inphernals into harm’s way just to line their own pockets further, & that it was completely immoral & unethical.
Valk & Dom’s legal team managed to keep all this drama under wraps from the duo for a while, yet the cracks soon began to show when Dom began to notice that something was off about the public; something about not enough viewer retention, how there had apparently been a dramatic increase in the incident of locals smashing their TVs when their news show came on.
Valk didn’t listen. He never really did. He just turned a blind ear, nodded absent mindedly, & went about with his day, paying no heed to the active danger he was putting himself in by doing just this.
Valk sauntered off down the street, as vacant as ever, hands casually placed in his pockets, grinning over at everyone that passed by him, quite arrogantly expecting an expression of shock, worship, &/or devotion right back, because really, who wouldn’t be lucky as hell to have the Valk walk right by them, & to even go as far as to grin at them?!!
Just about anyone, Valk thought.
He didn’t even realise that he was being followed until he, all too late, found himself being backed into a dead-end alleyway by a gang of thugs. Tall, imposing people these guys were, & absolutely no match for Valk to hope to take on on his own.
What’s worse, was that Valk couldn’t even get a simple glimpse at his imposers’ faces, so he couldn’t even sue them for bodily damages & injuries later on!
He quickly began to sweat, chuckling nervously as he quickly found himself being backed, slowly but surely, evermore into the dead end of the alleyway. Valk soon found his back pressed up against the wall in no time, & just as one of those shadowed hands reached out to lunge at him…
A sudden streak of green cut through the air.
