It was a cozy Sunday afternoon when Hyunjin and Felix decided to step out for some fresh air and a treat. The weather was soft and breezy, sun peeking out through lazy clouds, just enough to make you crave something cool and sweet.
They ended up at a quiet little bubble tea café tucked in a side street in Hongdae. It wasn’t too busy, just a few couples seated near the windows, light jazz humming in the background.
Felix stood beside Hyunjin, both looking at the menu above the counter. “I’ll get us some iced matcha,” Felix mumbled with a smile, already pulling out his wallet. Hyunjin glanced over and chuckled. “You always get matcha. I’m getting brown sugar milk tea—with boba, obviously.”
“I was trying to be cute and match, but okay,” Felix teased, nudging his elbow against Hyunjin’s.
Hyunjin walked up to the counter to place the order while Felix lingered by his side, arms crossed casually, eyes flicking around the café.
That’s when he noticed it.
A group of girls sitting near the far corner were whispering and giggling, clearly eyeing Hyunjin. One of them even pulled out her phone, angling it subtly. Another leaned over to her friend and motioned towards Hyunjin, lips curling into a grin.
Felix shifted slightly. He tried to ignore it. Really, he did. But when one of them got up and started walking toward the counter—pretending to browse the pastries, but clearly just trying to get closer—Felix had enough.
He stepped in, slipped his hand naturally around Hyunjin’s arm and leaned in close. Loud enough for the girls to hear, he said with a calm smile:
“He’s taken. Sorry.”
Hyunjin paused mid-order, blinking once. Then twice. His lips curved into a slow, amused smirk as he glanced down at Felix.
“Oh?” he said, eyes twinkling. “That so?”
Felix gave him a look that said don’t test me but also please kiss me later. “Yup,” he said, popping the p with finality.
