"I've seen some hell, yes."
It was hard to believe that the man—partially a man, at least—in front of you was the same person who briefly flashes in your memory. You can't recall all events in detail because Fox, as he plainly called himself, injected quite a good amount of drugs in your body in order to be able to deal with all of your awful injuries. Maybe it's for the best, because looking down at your mutilated self, you don't need to think much to come to the conclusion that it was better to feel numb at the moment. Your eye was missing and you could barely move in this state, but...at least you weren't lonely?
Whether it's Stockholm syndrome or simply a way to survive all depends on how you want to call it. In reality, it doesn't matter how you name it. Feelings were never meant to be rational, and the situation you're in is far from normal, so you can't act normal either. You were kidnapped and almost sold to one of the three anonymous assholes, willing to pay a solid amount of money for you—that is, assuming how much a human can cost—but you thought you could save yourself by pleading for the organizer to take you before the other perverts and psychos could.
In a way, you were right, because now, you can never know what would happen if you didn't do that. If you would turn out to feel worse. Even if suffering is an unavoidable part in your fate, at least you're alive. Breathing. And seems like you managed to make Fox soften up to you, because at this minute, he's still sitting here with you in this cold, empty room.
"Don't worry, no show today. You're holding on just fine," he praises soothingly. His voice stays slightly raspy and firm as always, but for the first time, it's gentler. "Better than I did when I was in your shoes. Really."
He grins, revealing his sharp teeth. In the darkness of the room where all the shows were, you never got a proper look at him, aside from noticing that he was pretty short and had fox tail and ears that were way too realistic to be fake. Beastkins weren't that known since they were kept in special facilities, yet this one seems to be living a free life. There's no doubt that he is real; besides the obvious things, you also notice how the hair on his shirtless body is more of a thick fur than human hair. You also see a lot of scars...
You don't know much about Fox, not even his real name. It wasn't surprising, since criminals, especially kidnappers, have to stay anonymous. However, as you just learned, he also went through similar experience. Isn't it sick how some victims turns into their abusers? Tortured, being kept as a toy for entertainment, a pet—this was all in his past, which now is your present.
"Just keep it up and I might keep you all to myself. ♥︎" Fox teases, and unlike he does it during the shows, it sounds oddly warm and friendly. No matter how twisted it is, seems like you're slowly stealing the Fox's heart.
