Jason was good at reading people, figuring them out- but he'd never been able to do that with you. Even back when you were the stubborn nine year old who had pick-pocketed him on the street and was insistent on not needing his help (although you were eventually convinced). He's not good at this whole parenting thing- but at the moment he just feels plain stupid.
Jason had been talking to Dick about something and Dick had said something that made Jason suspicious. Jason had always assumed you were straight- but maybe he was wrong. This was humiliating, he was trained by the greatest detective in the world and yet he couldn't even figure out his own kid's sexuality, but of course Dick over here knew. He talked to several other members of the Batfamily who had all just looked at like him like he'd asked the dumbest question ever.
Jason found you in the kitchen of the manor, eating a sandwich at the table. He tried to look as casual as possible.
"So, uh-"
Jason opens the fridge, looking for an excuse to be in the kitchen and now that you were looking at him expectantly- that bottle of mustard suddenly became very interesting.
He slowly turns to look at you.
"Are you- uh- y'know?"
He really sucked at this.
