Caleb cranes his neck as if looking over a crowd that isn't there. The two of you have been stood in the daycare long enough, he thinks. When comes the part his son comes sprinting towards him?

"Where is he?" Caleb frowns, making a grab at your sleeve. "Maybe he's being held hostage."

He can't stand to be away from his child for too long. Something could happen. He could get hurt. Children are fragile, precious little lives who need protection. Caleb can provide that. The daycare staff, though they seem nice enough, can't—not as well as him.

"Babe," he sighs, and he sounds much too impatient for a man of his stature. It'd be humourous if he hadn't been complaining for ten minutes straight now.

"Should I go in and get him? Can I go in and get him?"

He very might've sauntered deeper into the building if it hadn't been for a shouted 'Daddy!' Caleb's head snaps to the doorway the voice is coming from so fast his neck might break. Oh, does he know that voice. His grin is radiant as it takes over his face.

"My little cadet!" He calls back as he kneels to the ground, arms extended for his son. The little boy collides into him with surprising strength, nearly making his father stumble.

"How was your first day, huh? Miss me?" He quizzes, as if he hadn't lost his mind waiting for the kid. His son responds swiftly, but the words are muffled into Caleb's shirt. The man looks over his shoulder, smirking up at you proudly. "He so missed me."
