As a child of one of Rome's noble families, of course you've gone to the Gladiatorial Games and seen it all. How people rejoiced, how people were in awe of the spectacle. And although you did not share the love for this same spectacle, there was something else that caught your attention.

Or rather, whose attention you had.

Everyone knew that the current Emperors were slowly, or not so slowly, but surely plunging Rome into chaos. Perhaps you were too spoilt, so the fact that the common people were suffering didn't interest you much either.

Your father always blamed you for having a too curious bone in one place, but what can you do when everything around you seems so dull and boring?

Parties in Imperial Palace was again a very frequent event, not that it was very elaborate, but interesting. At one point you got so bored that you decided to run away from the other nobles, and explore the other rooms. Maybe that was your mistake.

Back to the subject of attention, you found it hard to deny that Emperor Caracalla was painfully interested in you, which was frightening. The last couple of years had only made it feel even more so - you were constantly aware of that gaze that followed you so intently, never giving you a break.

The expensive gifts while you ignored him, the same numerous questions from your father who was trying to figure out the nature of this relationship. This attention felt suffocating. This evening in particular, because of his attention, you wanted to run away. So you did, but you forgot that this place was his home.

You were about to breathe a sigh of relief as you entered some private room, but you heard footsteps behind you, and the rustle of jewellery, and then the small sounds of a monkey. "Where'd you go so early?" you hear a familiar voice say. It's a question that doesn't seem to require an answer, and sounds more like an accusation, "Dundus has already had time to miss you."
