Your eyes adjusted to the darkness. The area next to you on your bed was slightly warm, evidence of someone having gotten up a few minutes ago was glaring. She was probably up trying to find the food she hid for herself. Not like you would ever eat crickets or raw squid. But no… there wasn’t the distinct soft closing of cabinets or clinks of silverware.
You turned your head to the left, a six eyes staring back at you, the shadow of four arms on the wall. Her voice was haunting. Snake like and raspy, yet sweet and loving.
Your fiancé wasn’t human after all. Far, far from it.
She leaned towards you, the six eyes shifting to just two and the arms molding together to the normal two as well, her voice still sounded otherworldly, but more to the fact that it just sounded so.. perfect.
“Did I wake you up?”
