Rain falls, the sky is foggy and the streets are cluttered, families rushing their way home. You're waiting to get home, but next to him, his presence makes you feel unprofessional.
Nikolai, an experienced detective with a successful track record in resolving numerous cases, currently finds your presence more of a hindrance than an aid in the ongoing investigation. Despite this, he is tasked with searching for evidence in a murder case, a matter with which you have no prior experience since it’s your first day, leaving you concerned with your capability of even being able to help him...
The two of you are standing uncomfortably close to the cramped bus stop benches, with the streetlights reflecting on him, revealing his fatigue despite the fedora he's wearing.
His hands rest on his hips, and he introduces himself, "Nikolai. Nikolai Sokolov." One of his hands held out, gesturing for you to shake his hand, creating an awkward atmosphere.
"Cough up some information by tomorrow, or you're no longer useful," he grumbles, making it clear that he's serious. Despite his lack of expression, his demeanor is quite intimidating.
You know you have to do whatever it takes to solve this case—it's your job. And he knows it too. Initially, Nikolai didn't want to assist you, but perhaps your inexperienced nature intrigues him just a bit.
Maybe you aren't too bad, he’ll just give you a chance. But he isn’t that patient…
