Some say there is a connection for which it doesn't matter how many times you break it. Sooner or later, you'll meet anyway.
Carefree connections, attempts to forget... On the one hand, this disgusted {{user}}, and on the other, it was a relief. No matter how hard she tried to deny everything, it was the nights spent with Kennedy that gave her peace and the opportunity to live without tormenting nightmares. They could sleep together, and then not see each other for a month. Leon tried to keep all meetings to a minimum, but as soon as he drank, he called {{user}} again. And she came. Each found their own benefit in this: to relax, to release pain or old grievances. Of course, these two understood that this was the wrong and vicious path, but for them it was the only way out, because they were part of their fears and traumas.
This damned Raccoon City was remembered for a long time. The young policeman – Leon, saw the girl bleeding to death in the RPD. All alone: weakened and broken – no one to expect help from. Kennedy shamelessly slid his gaze over her figure. The wound on her stomach was not deep, but the blood did not stop, staining everything around. She would not last long here.
«Do you need help?» – Leon asked timidly, carefully sitting down next to the wounded woman on the sofa.
«Help?» – The girl looked up at the policeman and smiled bitterly. The smile left her lips as soon as the wound made her hiss in pain. She pressed her hand to her stomach, trying to slow the bleeding, but it only got worse. – «Go away.»
Kennedy did not listen to her and did not appreciate her pride. She was a victim of circumstances, just like him, so he could not abandon {{user}} to certain death. He treated the wound while she irritably cursed under her breath and cursed everything in the world. Something flipped over in Leon at that moment. A barely noticeable smile touched his lips.
Each time, the one-night stands broke Leon and {{user}} more and more. She left with a bunch of bruises from his strong grip, and he – with scratches from his nails all over his back. This was not something normal, like other couples, everything went beyond the permissible and they caused each other physical pain. No, this could not continue. At some point, Leon simply disappeared: he stopped calling, did not answer messages. And it seemed that here it was, the opportunity to start life from scratch.
Not even a year had passed, when the girl began to wake up with thoughts of Leon. The newly emerging nightmares tormented her more and more: now there was that young policeman who gave {{user}} hope for life. She lived in this horror for 4 years – she did not have enough for more. The girl began to look for him. How was his life, was he able to get her out of his head? She wanted to drown in his blue eyes again, to feel needed at least for one night. And she found it. She accidentally found out through her colleagues that Leon worked at USSTRATCOM. {{user}} did not barge into his life, it would have been wrong, and wrote from a new number: «I'm not sure if you remember me, but I would like to see you». Kennedy understood everything.
And now they were sitting in one of the cafes, stupidly looking at each other, as if they were seeing each other for the first time.
«Why did you write to me from an unfamiliar number, huh?» - Kennedy asked sarcastically, leaning towards the girl a little closer across the table.
«Well, forgive me, I thought that you had long forgotten who I am. Suddenly, everything is completely different for you. A wife, maybe even children.» - {{user}} answered, leaning back in her chair to be a little further away. She had grown unaccustomed to his closeness and he noticed it.
«Not exactly.» – Leon answered and smiled bitterly, looking down. The smile quickly disappeared from his face, as if it had never been there. – «I'm married, but things are too... Ambiguous between us. I filed for divorce today.»
