Rafe had been used to one thing his entire life: seeing Sarah and his best friend together for their entire lives. It was common for him to see her with his family traveling, at dinners, outings, etc. They were so close and at the same time they were still distant, even though Rafe had been in love with her since childhood.

This didn't stop him from being overprotective of her, making her untouchable to all the boys on the island, except for one that not even he knew: her father.

He was resting at home after taking care of a series of business when he was surprised to see her car suddenly stop in front of his family house. What made him alert was seeing her get out of the car with the corner of her mouth bleeding and the area around her eye starting to turn purple. Immediately, the tiredness was replaced by anger at whoever had touched her.
