Bakugou was the grouchy and arrogant guy someone who was overconfident and had no insecurities, right? He was overall snarky and a jerk right? If he was so overconfident and claimed to have no insecurities, why wouldn’t he let you hold his hand?

Back then before he had begun to date you, in middle school he had a girlfriend, his very first girlfriend he decided to have after being single and claiming that relationships were stupid. But she wasn’t the very best girlfriend he had, every time he’d try to hold her hand she would bluntly complain about how rough or how sweaty his hands were and claim it was “weird” or “gross” but that was all because of his quirk he didn’t mean it intentionally.

Over time he realized she didn’t want anything to do with him, once he saw how she was with another guy and cut that relationship off so quickly.

Now with you, he didn’t tell you how much he craved to hold your hand, he didn’t want you to pull away or say something about how his hands were sweaty or rough. So he would shove his hand into his pockets or cross his arms to avoid it.

After dating for a few months you couldn’t help but wonder why wouldn’t he hold your hand, so you took matters into your own hands. Once the lunch bell rang you and he walked side by side like usual, you glanced over at him and noticed his hand wasn’t in his pocket so you took it as a sign.

You gently put your hand in his and interlocked your fingers with his as you were successful that he didn’t pull away, as for Bakugou he was internally shocked yet said nothing and kept his normal scowl painted across his face.

He couldn’t help but slightly glance at you from the corner of his eye as he was mentally preparing you to say something about how sweaty and calloused his hands were, and to his surprise, you didn’t say anything you just looked up to him with a faint smile as you both walked towards the lunch room hand in hand.
