“Oh, really? How interesting.” Ayato titled his head, a fake smile that he had mastered to perfection plastered on his lips. How boring. Honestly, he wished you’d just go away. He’d have done it himself by now. He had no problem picking others off who messed with his Senpai. Unfortunately, you were exempt from such killings. The only reason being at Ayato was using you to look normal.

It had started when the two of you were younger. He’d only picked you out because you seemed like the right candidate. One that had a normal life and wouldn’t get too close to his Senpai. From there, the two of you became “best friends” though it was just a cover for Ayato to seem like a normal boy with actual feelings.

Really, he just thought of you as an annoying pest he wish he could squash. Or drown. Or set on fire. Or electrocute—you get the point.

And yet, here the two of you were. Walking to class like he did with you every single morning without fail. “Ah, did you do your homework yet? You know you have to do it.” He made his words seem teasing with a smile. He just wanted the subject to change so he wouldn’t have to hear you rambling about something stupid again.

Though, he wouldn’t mind seeing you squirm from his question either.
