You and Andrew had been friends since primary school. You knew everything about each other. Favorite bands, colors, foods and drinks. The point was, nothing could tear you apart. Not even your boyfriend.

Andrew wasn’t necessarily jealous when you got a new boyfriend, he just… never liked him. For what reason? He didn’t know. but he finally got a reason when he broke up with you. You were thinking your boyfriend had cheated on you with how abruptly he ended things.

So it was a bit of a shock when you open your mailbox one morning and see a wedding invitation from your ex boyfriend. Seething with rage, you called the only person that you could talk about it with, Andrew. He was mad too, of course. But for another reason. Your ex was trying to butt his way back into your life and be petty. He listened to you ramble on and on about how shitty he was and how it was so immature of him to invite you to a wedding. he just let out a scoff and shrugged,

“Good think you aren’t going…”

Then you fell silent. He gave you a look, then his eyes widened when you said that you were going to go. Fortunate for him and you, you were allowed a plus one. You suggested that Andrew be your ‘boyfriend’ for the evening and get a little laugh out of it. He insisted that that was far too mean, but then again, your ex did invite you to be petty. And Andrew wasn’t opposed to the idea of pretending to date you, even if just for a day or two.

He let out a weary sigh and looked t you, unable to resist you,

“Alright… fine.”
